Sparky -- NJ is the "Garden State".

Only if you're growing smoke stacks.

As for the NH motto, KEEP IT!  Don't forget the Commonwealth of Virginia motto:  Death to Tyrants!  To hell with PC.  That's what's gotten us in our present state of affairs.

PC = Head in the sand

BTW, PC was originally a Soviet term.

Major Lord

Foxtrot Yankee!

Major Lord
"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee."

I thought it was "Virginia is for lovers" ?

Airrace

Several  years ago while driving thru NH I first saw "Live Free or Die" on a NH license plate. I think it's a great motto.

West Virginia= Wild and Wonderful.

Guess they should change that.  Hate for people to be thought of as "wild", or "wonderful".

JohnKachenmeister

Ohio:  "Birthplace of Aviation, in spite of the B.S. claims of North Carolina."

Virginia:  "Sic Semper Tyrannus."  Latin for "This always to tyrants," displayed on a state seal showing a dead tyrant at the feet of a heroic patriot.  It was also shouted by John Wilkes Booth as he leapt from the balcony at Ford's Theater after shooting Lincoln.

Florida:  "God's Waiting Room."

We do have a lot of industry in NJ, especially along the NJ Turnpike going north through the more urban counties...but we also have a lot of rural areas, many farms, orchards, and so forth.

I have a farm just outside DIX/McGuire where my family grows horses.  Not all of NJ is a wasteland.  It has some of the most beautiful landfills in the country

Illinois' state motto(unofficial of course):"The best government money can buy OFF."

Alternate: " You got to pay to play."

CA- Bring us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses.....and we'll pay for them.  And their kids, and their extended families, and oh, you can go to college on grants, even though I cant afford it. We'll even accommodate you if you dont speak english or dont care to learn. But we feel sorry for you so here is some welfare, and feel free to use the emergency rooms for regular check ups.  And dont forget about the fish and that every law we make is made to benefit San Francisco and L.A.

Really, I swear it fits on the license plate.  You just have to squint to read it.

Besides complaining and mocking our various state governments, how does this thread apply to CAP?

Because it might have something to do with uniforms.  Governments wear uniforms. ;D

Nothing really, I just thought it would be nice to have a discussion with like minded people.  I dont do a lot of internet forum stuff.  Really just CAPTalk and one other military site.  Maybe if we had a "Lounge" that really was a lounge where anything could be discussed within good taste and reason. I know it has been said in the past that if we want to talk about other things, go to another site, but most of the internet people I talk to are here.
