Alright, you PCR CAPTalkers... Texas Wing is about to invade the PCR! I'll be attending the 2009 Pacific Region Staff College at Nellis from 28 March until 3 April. So if you're attending as a student or as an instructor don't forget to say hi!

And yes, I'm taking a few days extra after RSC to lose my shirt in Vegas. I've actually got family out here, so casinos are the farthest from my mind. Well, maybe a slot or video poker machine...  ;D

When you can get relatively cheap fares to Sin City from DAL - plus I had an unused $75 travel voucher from a trip last year. Grab da bull by the horns... ;D

Last year they had the Nevada Wing DRE scheduled the same week as the PCRSC at Nellis.  It created a few conflicts....

I'm in 5 Chuck.  I've seen you walking around but haven't gotten a chance to think about what I am going to say.  Remember, I am Introspective.....    >:D

Since we are on the subject, does anyone want a daily update or anything?  Loads of fun going on here...

I will tell you this.  A member of my seminar asked another member if she would be so kind as to iron his uniform shirts.....  I don't care who you are, that's insulting but hilarious    >:D

YGBSM! If she didn't already beat him with a 2X4...  ;D

Warrior 4 is a pretty good group; all of us pretty much clicked as a team from the start... Chow hall - ahem, dining facility - got good food cheap; loaded up my breakfast plate for less than $3. Food court at BX varied and decent chow.  Booger King and Popeye's on separate building next to BX. Warrior Inn billeting not bad but occasionally runs outta hot water.

For the rest of the CAPTalkers, touring Red Flag and Thunderchickens tomorrow...

Dadgummit... she was sitting in the row in front of me during the classroom sessions. How rude of me not to properly introduce myself!  ;D Well, there's always tomorrow!

She's in my seminar.  We are both trying hard not to strangle the two *insert inspirational word here*'s in our group.

My squadron went to the New England Air Museum yesterday for the space expo they had (BTW, it was super awesome and one of the best times I've had at an activity in a long time), so this is the first I saw this.

I got 'the phone call' from her about said senior member regarding her ironing his uniforms.  Interesting discussion  ;D

She has a tattoo on her left calve.  Apparently, yesterday one of the seminar advisors asked her if she had some sort of concealer to cover it with.  Not sure why, it's a friendly looking monkey holding a heart (about the size of a silver dollar)...someone must not have the memo that she doesn't have to cover it up...

I remember last year that there were a few people that were patience testers, sounds like there are a few again.  Good times though - have fun at the Thunderbirds & Red Flag.

AFI 36-2903 prohibits tattoos visible on the uniform. Those who have visible tattoos (for example on short-sleeve shirts) who want to enlist have to remove them at their own expense.

The current CAPM 39-1 mentions nothing about it. If it's already on the radar screen with the PCRSC staff I can almost guarantee before long an SNCO or officer on Ma Blue's side here on Nellis might call her attention to it. (I do agree, the tat's cute!) Problem may be solved by wearing slacks or by using concealing makeup. (A band-aid might call unnecessary attention, though, as in 'what happened to you?')

I hope she does get to use the 2X4 on the guy...  We'll back her up! >:D ;D

Not to turn this into a uniform discussion, but she is allowed to have it showing all she wants.  Here are the appropriate reg quotes, including 39-1.

As a current USAF enlisted member [NCO] and ROTC cadet set to commission shortly, she is well aware of the prohibitions of tattoos and has already been vetted, several times.  Nobody on the AF side is going to say anything because she is well within the tattoo regulations.  BTW, I think it's 'cute' too.

It just somebody correcting someone on something that they haven't fully investigated.

Last year some guy tried to 'chew me out' because my CAP tie-tac is the one that looks like my grade insignia.  He accused me of impersonating an AF officer, etc.  Just a matter of pointing him to the 39-1 caused an 'open mouth insert foot' moment.

Quote from: CAPM 39-1 table 2-5Excessive tattoos/brands will not be exposed or visible (includes
visible through the uniform) while in uniform. Excessive is defined as any tattoo/brands that exceeds 1/4 of the exposed body part and those above the collarbone and readily visible when wearing an open collar uniform

Quote from: 36-2903 table 2-5Excessive tattoos/brands will not be exposed or visible (includes visible through the uniform) while in uniform. Excessive is defined as any tattoo/ brands that exceed 1/4 of the exposed body part and those above the collarbone and readily visible when wearing an open collar uniform. Members should not be allowed to display excessive tattoos that would detract from an appropriate professional image while in uniform.

QuoteTattoos/brands anywhere on the body that are obscene or advocate sexual, racial, ethnic, or religious discrimination are prohibited in and out of uniform. Tattoos/brands that are prejudicial to good order and discipline or
that are of a nature that tends to bring discredit upon the Air Force are prohibited in and out of uniform. Tattoos that are commonly associated with gang affiliations are prohibited both in and out of uniform. Unauthorized (content): Members who receive tattoos/brands not meeting the standards after the implementation of this policy are required to initiate tattoos/brands removal at their own expense upon notification by their Commander. Initial Accessions must disclose any tattoos and must complete removal of inappropriate tattoos prior to being accepted in the Air Force.

I stand corrected... That's what I get for not reading the regs too closely. Ya see 'no tats' and people will freak out.  Now that I re-read the paragraph in question I do not have a problem at all with it. (Ducking the proverbial 2X4! ;D)

BTW, early congrats on the butter bars! Now off to the chow hall...
