Anyone know the name and email for the CAP National IG?

Flying Pig

Tell us why you need it.... this Officer/NCO discussion bores me  >:D

If your goal is to file a complaint you need to file a CoC or start with your WG/IG.  If CAP IG works like the AF it will get filtered down to their level anyway to be investigated/resolved.

Flying Pig

I hear it has to do with massive corruption and the hoarding of Post-It notes and paperclips for personal use.

FW

I'm pretty sure there is a directory in capmembers.com you can get the info you seek. I'm sure he would love to get more emails...... >:D

You don't think that's already been tried?

Seriously!?  You better have your ducks in a row t's crossed and i's dotted if you want your complaint to go anywhere and be taken seriously.  You better have good solid evidence and documentation as well.  Fact of the matter is is that if the WG or Region IG have not heard the complaint or even caught wind of it it's going to go back to them if you file at NHQ.

Sorry but the IG is not the end all cure everyone thinks it is for resolving issues.

Hmmm....wondering if there might be an IG complaint in the works on this one  >:(   That was a cheap shot -- certainly falls short of the Core Value of "respect".

RNOfficer, what credibility you had just got blown away by your flip remark.

Storm Chaser

Unless you've contacted everyone in your chain of command from your unit commander all the way to the National Commander, you haven't really tried resolving the issue through the chain of command.

Wow, what a loser you must be.

Everyone-

Ease up on RN. Initially I had the same knee-jerk reaction you guys seem to have. Almost replied, but I see in his messages someone that is desperate. Not thinking straight.

Remember that you could be in his shoes some day.

We do not know what his situation is. He probably tried the COC already but may have been unfavorable to him. We do not need to know.

Despite what some of you seem to think, some members do come to this forum after following the appropriate channels...

Sir,

You're right we don't know what the situation is at all and not privy to it. But I highly doubt that he/she went to the group (if applicable) or the wing or even pursued the WG/IG first.

Fact the IG is not the end all cure all members think it may be and members going to the IG need to have their ducks in a row and have documentation.

Per CAPR 123-2 Chapter 7.3.C.1 and 7.3.C.2 states that the complaint is to be addressed at the wing level first.  If the complaint is received by a higher echelon will be transferred to the applicable office.

The OP did not like that post and responded with a "cheap shot" and that is what has driven the response he/she received, nothing more nothing less.  And honestly gauging by that response any complaint they feel they have is not going to hold up.

I chose not to respond to that post as I was sure the mods would see it and take action if not oh well.  I am not going to cry about it or lose sleep about it.

I personally have been in his/her shoes both in CAP and my day job and chose other means to rectify my complaints and issue.

BLUF exhaust the CoC for complaints unless there is absolutely no recourse then you start an IG complaint at the WG,  but you best have your ducks in a row and some degree of proof if you choose to go that route.  The IG system may not be a court of law but having documentation goes much further than simple feelings getting hurt and avoids a he said she said dynamic.

Sir,

First.....yes we should always try to solve issues at the lowest levels....but.......and this is a big but.......the IG is open at all levels with no requirement to go to the lower levels.

If the NHQ IG gets a complaint that is better handled at the wing or region level....they will pass the complain to the appropriate level.

Second......you came at RNOfficer a little high handed IMHO.

RNO asked for information.....and you started lecturing.  RNO says basically "I did that already" and you responded with a lecture.

I'm guilty of it too.

RNO shot off a less the thoughtful comment....and well....here we are.

A little respect all around would probably help everyone.

ABD-

I am well aware of the regs requiring resolution at the lowest level. I have 15 years of CAP service.

The same experience makes me aware the IG not being "the end-all cure-all."

Again, that "cheap shot" may have been the result of being in a stressful situation. Many, many times one answers in a way that is not intended when under duress.

Maybe, like you said, he may have decided to skip the lowest level. But until you know for sure, cut him some slack. Because you probably have done it or will do it in the future.

CAPR123-2 disagrees with you.  I was giving the reality of that the IG may not resolve the issue to the OPs issue and the chain needs to be used.

You telling me the OPs entire chain and the WG/IG there are incompetent?
