I totally agree 100 percent. Law is tough on that it's like leaving the scene of an accident but leaving the accident of a plane wreck. I think there should be penalties.

Consideration should be given to the state of the pilot. If he is injured (he was), and/or mentally in shock then it is appropriate for him to seek for help and take care of the injuries.

We shouldn't be too harsh and start judging what the pilot did from the comfort of our sofas. After all the FAA has clear regulations about accident reporting. Just my two cents worth.

The plane crash site was secured by Vernon police for federal investigators until Civil Air Patrol members could relieve police.

Isn't it supposed to be the other way around?

Local authorities can't always devote the resources, so CAP does do site surveillance for short periods of time.

He was taken to a hospital by an ambulance.
