CAP Producer

Dear CAP Talk Friends,

I wanted to take a moment and let the list know that I have accepted the position of National Public Affairs Team Leader as of Tuesday August 11th.

One of my key duties is to "Liaise between the NHQ Staff and membership in regards to CAP Public Affairs matters."

So I plan on doing that in a number of ways including remaining active here on CAP Talk.

As one of my first tasks I will be preparing a "Plan of Action" for my work as Team Leader and organizing a Volunteer Team after the National Board and Annual Conference.

I would like to get your input on what our team's  priorities should be and any thoughts you may have on our PA program as well.

Feel free to e-mail me at al.pabon@mncap.org with questions, ideas, concerns or just to say hi.  :)

I won't promise to answer every e-mail but I will read them.

I plan on using CAP Talk as a key part of keeping our membership informed with periodic updates about what the team is doing.

I also encourage you to share your ideas on this board. All I ask is that the sharing be respectful of our members, the organization and of each other.

I will be lurking on the board but please forgive me if I do not answer every post or comment on every issue here.

In clsoing I wanted to let you know that the PA team has some great Break-out Sessions at the upcoming National Conference including a "PA Town Hall." Click here to go to the listing of sessions:

Please bring your observations, ideas and thoughts to the Town Hall. I will also be available for one on one meetings with members at the Conference.

I look forward to working with each of you and I hope that you are having a great day.

Al, congrats on your selection.  It speaks well of you and also NHQ....the recognition of one who has a healthy passion and perspective for keeping CAP in the public eye.
Disclaimer:  Not to be confused with the other user that goes by "Chappy"   :)

So Al, does this mean somebody will actually look at the pictures before they post them on the web?

Al;
GREAT and Good Luck. You should definitely look at Capt. Scott Orr from the CO/WGs work on video (You Tube) http://captalk.net/index.php?topic=8693.0

and Lt. Col. Mark Hess of the GA/WG work on Twitter and other social networking and history sites. These men are doing remarkable things and deserve to be both mentioned and benchmarked.

In a "takes one to know one" theme... I have been inspired by their efforts on behalf of CAP.

With regards;
ED OBRIEN
