Who has heard about it.
Office Max is the company who is offering it

I like it cause you can save money which is a good idea cause how bad the economy is.

Eclipse

Make sure you do a little shopping.

A GSA schedule only means a fixed price, not necessarily the lowest or a discount.

saved about 3 cents per page when making copies.  On most other items, not really a big saving.

GSA schedule= rip off the government for as much as they are worth.

Example..
A package of Bic Pens (20 count) $5.34, Walmart same item= $4.79

My Input is why dint CAP look into that such as seeing if it was a cost saver or not.
Looks like they dint.

The closest one to me is 48 miles away. A non-starter for the units in this area.

I realize that my 34 years of age makes me old fashioned, but what the heck is a "dint"?

Cadet Program Guy.
It's probably a form of Texting shorthand for "didn't" that the younger generation has developed. At age 34 you may be to old to understand it. In my day it was called a typo

I was thinking of upgrading my MS office software and had been hoping that this might help get a deal, but it doesn't sound like it might make much of a difference.

Can you purchase items on line,m have them delivered and still get the discount?

IceNine

^Yes.  just setup the account.  There are 3 files attached at the link above.

One is the card that you take to the store and scan at the register.

The other is an account setup sheet.  Simple stuff that just get's emailed to the company.

Perfectly acceptable if you use the software for CAP.

I have used techsoup as well for purchasing software. It's the cheapest way to purchase software. You have to be a non profit organization to obtain the software.

I found it dificult to set up the account the first time but after a few phone calls to them we were on board. They want to make sure you are truly a non profit organization and not just trying to purchase the software for resale. I was told several years ago someone was purchasing the software and re selling on E-bay. Microsoft got wind of this and was pretty upset.

I also wanted to mention that everyone buying things for cap should be getting them TAX-FREE.  Just take a copy of the Text Exempt form to any store with you, and set it up.

At STAPLES they actually give you a tax exempt card to use, and if you use it to make copies, the standard black/white copy price of $.08 drops to $.04

Radio Shack will also discount t a few items if you setup the text exempt account in store.

Eclipse

I agree, however be aware that many larger corporation require you setup the exempt status in advance.

If yo don't already have it, your Wing staff should have copies of the Federal and respective State letters for you.

^ Correct.  Thanks Eclipse, I forgot to mention where to get the respective TAX Exempt papers.

So... if I'm filling up the CAP van and have said paperwork... can we skip the gas tax?  ??? that would save maybe 20 or so cents per gallon???

Depends on your state tax laws.  In New York State, even 501(c)(3) organizations exempt from paying sales and usage taxes must still pay tax on gasoline.  It says so right on the tax exempt certificate.
