A Border patrol Agent was shot and killed in San Diego last night.  So far, the investigation is suggesting the agent was ambushed.  Campo is west of Jucumba Airstrip for those who are familar.

CAWG is very familiar with the area due to Border CD details.

Godspeed to the agent and condolences to his family.  Another American hero KIA.
If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything.
To err is human, to blame someone else shows good management skills.

Law enforcement is, perhaps even more than the military, a "Band of Brothers" envisioned by Shakespeare.  When one is murdered, we all mourn, and we all recall other officers, who we have known as friends, who were also lost.  There can be no words to console the widow and his orphans, only God in His mercy can assuage their pain.

One of the former cadets from a unit I commanded is also a Border Patrol agent in San Diego.  I will e-mail him and see if I can learn anything new.
Another former CAP officer

God speed, good man!!!!

As Smokey noted, CAWG is very much aware of where this occured: many of our members have flown over this area many times.  It hits close to home, given the frequency with which we fly in this area.
