How long does it normally take?

It's been a bit over two weeks since I mailed the application form, fingerprint card, and money order (!) to NHQ to rejoin.

I still have heard nothing.  No temporary card, no welcome, nothing.

Am I just a nervous Nellie, or should I be concerned at this point?  How long does it normally take to get something back?

At our squadron we just had a new member get his card, binder etc. and he sent his information in to NHQ a little over a month ago.

Ask somebody in your unit to see if you're listed in eServices as a unit member.  That should be active at least a week before you receive the card.

The last senior member application I submitted posted in eServices in about 10 days. It's been two weeks since then, and nothing has been received in the mail yet

Usually 10 to 14 days in my experience.  Call NHQ and ask whats up.

I've seen some come back in as little as 10 days, other times 3-4 weeks. You'll get a temporary when they accept your paperwork, or you get the whole thing back with a note if there's something missing, underfunded, etc.

The other funny thing, I've seen the temporary ID card come and then two days later, they report they got the real one.

But yes, anyone can go on eServices, from the unit you signed up with and check the roster.

From what I understand, they're having some delays because of the renovations being done at NHQ. We were told if we had something that had to be done in short time, to send it by Fedex because they deliver direct to the office.   Snail mail is sent to the main mailroom unless it's a Restricted delivery or Registered letter.

NHQ is a mess because of the renovations.  We just had a cadet take 2 months to become a member.  I would tell people 4-6 weeks. 

Have your commander keep an eye out for your name to appear on the squadron roster.  Once your name appears, you are official.

Last member I processed took 5 days to show on national, 2 weeks to get card, another week to get materials.

As was pointed out in Animal House, it could take years and cost millions of lives.  When I came back in, it took three months for my membership to process.  Some people take three weeks.  I think that it depends on how many applications get stacked on top of yours while it's in the in-box.

The folks at NHQ are good folks, but they do a great deal while understaffed and, frankly, underpaid.  But that's the life of an employee at a non-profit.

Heck, I can beat that --- I retired 12 years ago and NEVER got the certificate.

I e-mailed National who said it was sent to Florida Wing. I e-mailed Florida Wing who said it was still at National until they can print the ID card.

I trust National, more than I trust FLWG to tell me the truth about what's going on in this situation.

All I'm saying is I once saw an ad for a PT admin asst(clerk/secretary in my book) and the hourly wage was better than mine.

This is getting a little off topic, but an Admin Assistant is a level or two above a Clerk/Typist. They do all that, but also have additional duties, too.
