I don't know about today, but in 1997 when I was going up for E-5, I got education points for doing Army, Marine and Air Force correspondence courses.  The AF ones I did through ECI were all for CAP.  ECI-13, Scanner and Observer.

I can't see why that wouldn't be the case today.

Depends on the course and curent Army policy.   Check with your Army PME folks first.

I knew a Army LTC who was not selected for War College.  He enrolled in a AWC Seminar program and then dropped after the Army told him it was ok to take the course, but he would not get War College credit on his record for it.  The Army War College selection board selects who can take it by distant learning and who will go in resident.  If you don't get selected to take it by distant learning, you can not take it by distant learning and get it on your record.

AFIADL courses may count towards retirement for Reserve Component (1 point per 3 hours of correspondence) or enlisted promotion points.  It is unlikely for them to be accepted as equiv. for ANCOC, BNCOC or ILE/CGSC.

The Catch I was told by my S1 when I was putting in points were that they have course numbers and certain courses will count and others will not.  As far as I can tell it is hit or miss.
