Got an E-mail from the National Commander asking for mentor for the new OE program.

Just sent in my application.  Anyone else going to step up?

I'm planning to apply as a participant in the track, not a mentor.

Good on ya for stepping up.

I won't be applying as I am not eligigle to particpate. I don't have and will not be getting a Tech Rating in any of the Mission areas (CP, AE or ES)

They all require work at the unit level and I am a HHQ person that does not particpate in a local unit (or even my home wing anymore.) No time to do so.

It's a good track but my Masters Ratings in Public Affairs and Recruiting & Retention will have to do.

Oh well.  :-\

I am going to be signing up as a mentor as well.  I wanted to make sure my Wing CC was OK before I did it.

There's nothing that says you can't go back to a local unit at some point in time.  Perhaps you'll get burned out from PA at Higher Headquarters and want to take a break.  I've served at higher headquarters on several occaissions and after a while I find it refreshing to return to the local level for a while.  I find that it really refocuses my efforts in a way that they better benefit the members.

Yep, sent my application in a few days ago. Hopefully I won't be the only one in all of West Texas, but who knows.

I'm considering applying as a participant, too.  After I finish, I'll mentor someone.  I need to BTDT before showing someone else the ropes.  But I appreciate everyone volunteering.

Dropped my mentor paperwork yesterday and will apply for the track when it goes hot.

I have considered it.  If you guys here think I would be a worthy mentor, I will submit.

Yes, you would be!   ;D    Do it.
A chance to mentor, even in a small way perhaps, a future leader of Civil Air Patrol.

Yeah, I'm planning to put in an application, probably next weekend.
