hi all,

i just got back from my extremely short deployment in the middle east and our reserve unit has been chosen to represent the USCG reserve in the inauguration parade, so keep an eye out and youll notice our unit as one of the many units marching in the parade, this is an extremely rare opportunity, and something ill tell my kids about one day.

Dress warm! And have fun. DC parades are a blast. If it's windy, the wind gets funneled down the streets, and the cross streets can get interesting.

This is to be the largest inauguration parade since the 1950's.

Something about a history making election......I must have missed the election coverage on the news this year.

They get a little upset when you're marching in formation in the parade and you whip a camera out...

You know, that military bearing stuff.

I wored the 1993 inauguration for Clinton as a member of the Old Guard.  I was on the "send off" team for President Bush at Andrews AFB.

Fun times.

Good stuff.  It's going to be a zoo - about 2 - 3 million folks are going to be there.  Enjoy the experience!
