The best recruiting we can do is program execution.
I agree...to an extent.  That is only a part of any solution.  For many of the reasons you mentioned later in your post,  in order to recruit effectively we need to be consistent in our message.

Quote from: Eclipse on December 02, 2008, 04:42:52 AMToo much of our recruting efforts are wasted when potential members show up to a local squadron and find out that what is happening in their town looks nothing like the video.  The airplanes are all 300 miles away, the Humm-Vee was a loaner from a local dealership, no one in the unit can spell ES, and the 4 cadets who can be bothered to show up have attitudinal issues.
This has nothing to do with exectution but rather setting expectations.  As it pertains to setting that expectation, I agree that we can do a much better job.   Some squadrons operate just as you might see in a particular video.  On the other hand, there are many others aren't at that level.  The failure to correctly set expectations in part leads to retention issues.  This can be a fine line because, especially as it pertains to cadets, we are to inspire them.

Quote from: Eclipse on December 02, 2008, 04:42:52 AMYes, we need a better brand, but having one without anything to back it up isn't going to help.
Agreed.  There is no one single thing that will solve the issues we face.  Rather these things will be part of a comprehensive strategic approach.

I guess...while other stories are churning on the GOCAP site, there have been 3-4 at least posted on the old one this week...

Here's my take... The GoCAP site is just one of the first steps to break at least part of CAP away from mama blue.

FWIW: Big Blue has no need for the cadet programs or Aerospace Education, but that is another thread someone can start if they like.

I'm miffed that there is not an RSS feed on the new site and the fact the old one has not been updated.  I Feed my squadron and group web sites from the feeds.  I also feed the RSS into my outlook 2007 so I can keep up with the news of CAP.  I prefer not to visit the National sites as the RSS gave me just what I needed.

For some reason they lit up the old CAP News Feed for this:

Quote2. I have attached an outline of an ECI-13 replacement course entitled, "The CAP Officer Basic Course (COBC)."

Anyone seen this? Can't find it... If you got a link or file, please post.
