Do you have any CAP related items in your workplace. This could be something as simple as a picture or as complex as a grouping of items.

Not in my current office because I'm fairly new and haven't quite settled in yet...it's been 4 months.

But at my last job, in DC, I had a few CAP items on display.  A couple of CAP coins, a picture of my cadets they had given me in a frame,  and a coffee mug.

My boss up in DC, at the time, was the Deputy Wing Commander and he had a picture of himself that I framed and gave to him after his dog passed.  He has since retired from CAP but the picture remains.  I guess after 30 years it's normal to have something around to remind you of something good.

In fact, it was this picture...

I keep a few brochures and copies of Volunteer on the end of my desk as sort of a passive recruiting tool.  As far as I know, it hasn't led to anyone joining but it has started a few conversations.

I don't have a lot of space at my station but I usually keep a copy of the "Volunteer" in the lobby for customers after I have read it.

I have a couple of pics here and there, nothing official, so to speak. I did find out that the guy in the office next to me was a former member

There is also have a link on the company website about volunteer activities - they gave me my own page for our clients to see. I guess it gives them the warm fuzzy feeling that engineers sort-of have lives outside of the normal 9 to 5 (7 to 5 for me).

I have my cube full of CAP stuff!  Not in a bragging way though.

I have a coffee mug that I was presented that sits on one of my shelves.
I have numerous pictures of my wife and me at CAP events on my picture board.
I use a CAP laptop bag, so that's visible.
I also have the Chicken Wings Comic about CAP hanging.

When I first started I used to get a bunch of questions about it, but now that everyone knows I do it - it's just routine.  There are a few Army Guard guys in my office that think it's pretty spiffy.

However, there was apparently someone that used to work here that used to wear his smurf suit to all the company parties (Halloween, Christmas, etc)  :o  So I get asked if I have one of those (just as a joke.)

So - I represent!

I have some of my certificates there, but most of them are in my desk drawer.  The only framed thing I keep out for sure is my autographed copy of "Colin Powell's Rules."  I had "remove before flight" and "remove to arm" things on my desk for a while.

DogCollar

I have my chaplain appointment certificate hanging on my office wall.

Enjoy it - you could be in a cube farm for 40/wk. I moved up - I have a door and a window that opens.

Why would anyone in Pennsylvania want a window that opens during December? To let the snow in?

That's what you do when you're "HARD"  HOOAH!!!

I'm trying to get an indoor job now but I think that will have to wait until I can finish my Bachelor's Degree.  As of now, I am trying to get copies of all of my old cadet programs certificates to put on my "Love Me Wall."

I've got a couple of Wing challenge coins, an old wing patch and my KS Adjutant General's State Disaster Relief Service award posted in my cubicle. My work PC's screensaver is set to slide show several megs of CAP images from Katrina, KS/CO blizzard of 2005/2006 and some other disasters our birds worked.
"And Saint Attila raised the Holy Hand Grenade up on high saying, "Oh Lord, Bless us this Holy Hand Grenade, and with it smash our enemies to tiny bits. And the Lord did grin, and the people did feast upon the lambs, and stoats, and orangutans, and breakfast cereals, and lima bean-"

" Skip a bit, brother."

"And then the Lord spake, saying: "First, shalt thou take out the holy pin. Then shalt thou count to three. No more, no less. "Three" shall be the number of the counting, and the number of the counting shall be three. "Four" shalt thou not count, and neither count thou two, execpting that thou then goest on to three. Five is RIGHT OUT. Once the number three, being the third number be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade to-wards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuffit. Amen."

I have piles of CAP paperwork and projects on my desk.

Does that count?
