I thought this was interesting.  I dont really care what your political ideas are, however, doing some research, I discovered Capt. John McCain's "rack".  Pretty impressive actually.  We dont really hear much beyond his POW experience.  I actually wasnt aware until not to long ago that he retired as a Capt.  I tried to arrange it a little better.  Maybe someone can help me out with it.  ie...wings on top, etc.

My very brief conversation with McCain ended with him telling me, "I sure hope you fly better than I do."

National Order - Knight according to the rack builder I used.  Seems similar to the Legion of Merit with the different classes.

If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything.
To err is human, to blame someone else shows good management skills.

Legion of Merit has 4 classes. US citizens can only get the lowest class. The others are reserved for foreign military.

Chief commander-Heads of State
Commander-General Officers
Officer-Field Grade Officers
Member-US Military and foreign military

These are only general guidelines for award considerations

Yeah, like that before the day he was shot down, he'd downed three aircraft. Unfortunately, they were all his own...    :D

Well, lets not forget one of those three was when his A4 blew up on the deck of an aircraft carrier.  By his own admission, he has said many times that he wasn't a very good pilot.  Heck.....he told me personally! ;D

I think that line will be one passed down in my family for generations!

It's amazing what you can get away with when both Grandpa and Daddy have 4 stars on their collars.

This thread will get locked if it goes where I think it's heading.  Fair warning.

Before we get to that point, I DID NOT intend for this to become a political discussion.  being most of us are prior, active military or CAPers who know what those medals are, I personally found it interesting to see what the guy got.  Nothing more.

Ok, just remember YOU opened this can of worms.

Just because you never served in the military doesnt make you any less a hero. In fact I have a friend who is in CAP , whp posts on this board, who never served and she is a real hero. Mentored and developed cadets to national levels

I know teachers who were never in the military but they are great Americans for what they do for our nations children. Any real soldier will tell you its not about medals its about whats in your heart.

cnitas

But are any of those teachers asking to be the next Commander in Chief of our armed forces?
