I could say aspirin, claritain, and tylenol are examples of (over the) counter drug(s) however, I don't work for google ;D

To get involved with the CD/CN program, talk with your group/wing CDO.  They'll give you all the info you need to get involved with the program

Do you mean "we" as is CAP members?  Or "we" as in my buddies with the cartel?

You need to be  a Mission Pilot, Mission Observer or Mission Scanner.  If your not  a pilot, then go for Observer, because not many missions involving CD use a Scanner.  You generally have someone from a Law Enforcement agency doing that job.

Be a CAP member for 2 years (your cadet time does count).  After you hit your 2 years, put in the form 83.

I take it you must be new to CAP?

Depends on the state and what the locals like to use CAP for.

OK, here we go again.  I would suggest to the NYC member that he/she take a look at CAP reg 60-6, which is the CD bible.  In brief, we support law enforcement in their effort to control and/or eliminate illegal drugs.  How we do that is not germaine at this point.

You must be a member for at least two years and submit a CAP Form 83 to your Wing Counter Drug Officer.  Your form will be reviewed by the various law enforcement agencies who utilize CAP assets.  If you have any serious  law enforcement violations, you best discuss them with your CDO before going to the trouble of submitting the 83.

You will find that nothing moves rapidly in the CD program: current initial applications are taking upwards of a year for processing.

Think about it, get comfortable in your other CAP pursuits and then apply if it still interests you.

The CD program, at least in CA, is especially interested in aircrew and radio operators.  I recently had a guy apply who was applying as a safety officer: not exactly what we are looking for.
