Just registered for NER Conference 2008.  Newport, RI sounds exciting!  Looking forward to doing some sailing while there... maybe go down a few days early.  Great pick for the location.

Anybody else going?   8)

I guess I'll see you there.  Newport, RI was a great place to have this (except for the people in PA, NY and NJ :) )

It should be a good time.

Looking forward to meeting you both.  I really enjoy spending time in Newport.

I'll be there for STRATOPS and I might just be your shuttle driver

Did any new or important info come out of the recently completed Northeast Region conference?

Nothing that I noticed.  The general assembly was just like every other.

Mr. Larry Kaufman spoke about a plane refurbishment program.  Apparantly, the consolidated maintenance program has saved us so much money that they are going to completely refurbish 172s.  IIRC, he said they were going to do 4 this year with hopes of expanding the program next year.

They are going to have updated avionics, etc.  He said that a refurbished 172 will be better than buying new ones because the new ones have soundproofing that adds considerable weight to the aircraft - so you might be able to actually carry 3 :)

There's also a bunch of new planes and vans being purchased...

Wing Banker is working so well they're expecting their first unqualified audit this year.

Oh, and I got to meet Keiloch.  Now, I just need his address so he can autograph this photo...
