As we all remember, last year around this time CAP partnered with a company to create a virtual mall, which would help units to raise money.

There is a new article from cap.gov about it dated 08JUL08: LINKY

However, I have a [two] question(s) for all of you:

Have you participated in this yet?

Have you recieved the monies from the purchases?

We have a few members who have purchased things, specifically called out our unit (squadron) like they were supposed to and we haven't seen any money as "promised."  One member purchased a laptop through it about 9 months ago and we've seen nothing.

Nobody at "wing" seems to know how the process works either.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

And a direct link to the mall:  http://cap.fundlinkllc.com/

Never used it.

^If you check the press release, I'm sure there is a PAO name somewhere on it.  Call them and see who is responsible for the program.

I thought about this too, as I'm about to make some serious purchases, and it would be nice to get a kickback to the unit.

Our squadron has also made several purchases over the last few months with the same outcome - no money!

^ I think we all knew that would be the result, thus very few use the "mall".

Concur.

2 possible scenarios

1) It's all a scam and the person(s) hosting this site are making money off of it.

2) Somehow the system is not working properly so purchases are not being registered and subsequently accounted for.  For instance, if you click on the wal-mart add, and type in walmart.com you will get the same url and look/feel.

logic would tell me that there would be some difference, but the way something like this should work is way outside of my technical abilities/knowledge
