Look at the front cover of the May/June 2008 of the CAP Volunteer Magazine.  Did anyone else notice the ID card that Lt. Col. Penton (?) is wearing on his flight suit?  Is this a new official CAP ID card?

Where can someone get one of those old CAPF 19s?

MIKE

Fill out and submit a CAPF 19a.

Quote from: CAPR 39-21-15. b. In addition, CAPF 19, CAP Photo Identification Card, may be issued to senior members on an optional basis by region and wing commanders. (National Headquarters may issue photo identification cards to members assigned to units in the 99000 series.) The photo identification card is not valid unless accompanied by a current membership card.
1) Members may request identification cards by completing CAPF 19A, Request for CAP Photo Identification Card, attaching a 1" x 1" photograph and forwarding to their region or wing headquarters as appropriate.
2) Members assigned to units in the 99000 series may request photo identification cards directly from NHQ CAP/LMM.

Why don't the make the "patented" $4.00 CAP ID look like that one?

IIRC the $4 one was supposed to replace the CAPF 19.

The CAPF 19, I must say, looks like a more astetic design than the currect one.  I suspect the USAF raised an objection either formally or informally.

Actually, it looks like something offset printed about 10 years ago, which is exactly what it was.

These cards were printed in bulk, then you types your names on them and put your own photo on them - better than nothing but certainly not better than the photo ID.

There were units with a stash of these that passed them out like candy and whole wings where getting one was like asking for an authenticator card for the football.

Yeah, I remember like 99 thru 02 you couldn't get them from Wing.

Besides, that form is now pretty much 'old school' anyway.

Does anyone know if they are still using U.S. Civil Air Patrol on the top of the picture ID's I renewed in Feb and got one of those
