well if you have taken the test twice then you know what is on it.  i don't encourage you to take a test so that you can find out whats on it but if you take it and fail it don't be stupid, remember what was on the test.  if you have failed it twice then you should know what you are struggling on.  only study the parts that you struggle on.  briefly go over the whole thing again but study the hard parts.

if you have a Sergeant that is willing to help you ask them to test you.  have them skim the chapter and have them ask you questions, either ones that they make up or the ones out of the back of the chapter.  they should also be able to help you with study habits.  i know that my sergeant's are more than willing to help a cadet over the phone the night before a test.

also in the chapter you will notice little remarks on the side of the text.  these are very helpfull read them.  highlight the important parts in the book, the book is yours to do what you want with.

most importantly don't get worried when you take a test.  i don't know if you have this problem but i know that some people know the information but when it comes time to prove it they can't put it on the paper.

good luck and i hope that i told you something that you didn't already know.

I don't know how i study really.  i think i just have a good memory.  but if i was to think about how i study i quess i first read through the whole chapter.  maybe not all at once but within a few days i read the whole thing.  then i take a little bit a time when i can find it and go over all the bullets and big ideas.  the day before i take the test i reread the whole thing again or just really go over the main parts.  if you don't drive your self read as much as you can on the way to the meeting, i know that it has saved me a few times.

It's a comprehensive exam so be sure to study all of chapters 1, 2 and 3 of L2KAB: SE... Also review all of the D&C mentioned in these chapters in AFMAN 36-2203.

Study, study, study... It's about all you can do... Take your time and read for comprehension... Don't just skim through the main points as that is  where they stick it to you on the exam... Know it cold.

I'll say here what I said in the PM to him: Zip-Loc Method.

Highlight the answers of the end of chapter review questions (within the chapter) in YELLOW
Highlight the main points and side notes in BLUE

Where you see GREEN you find the questions.

Please note: this has about an 80% effectivity level, it's not guaranteed.  Studying is still the main point.  I have some notes located at: http://geocities.com/milwaukee_es_squadron/notes.htm

They're for the Leadership 2000 and Beyond, I haven't gotten a chance to sit down and re-write them for the new book with what may have changed.

If MustangCadet is using the second edition there are no review questions to fill in anymore, but there are Study Aids and Learning Exercises.  Sucks don't it?

LEADERSHIP: 2000 AND BEYOND - Second Edition

Also... Learn to abbreviate C/SSgt correctly... They put them in CAPR 52-16 for a reason... That's right folks the R means regulation... If you are doing it differently, well then your wrong.

Yeah... Pet peeve of mine.  ;)

Wow, that's a bummer...  National must have instated the "Thinker" position again. (NHQ/THKR)  ;D

Yay, a 5-year bump! 8)

Anyways, what I do is read the chapters a section/paragraph at a time, and then either highlight, underline, or scribble on the side of the paper the main idea and supporting details.

Remember, concentrate on main ideas and details, and come up with tricks to help you remember things. I do the tried and true repetition method- reading something out loud to myself over and over again 'till it becomes ingrained in my head. Read the notes in the book beside the paragraphs, and if you have 'em use the review questions at the end of each chapters. Learn AFMAN 36-2203, CAPM 39-1, the C&C manual (escapes me what number it it) and general CAP knowlege. Also, read the special readings and the passages about who the achievment is modeled after.

And memorize FLAG ETIQUETTE. Seriously.

Good luck for all you cadets out there. ;)

Bravo Zulu, Sergeant.

The first half was good to go on advice, but I'll let others gauge whether it was worth a five-year bump.
