there is a credit card through MBNA/Bank of America.  gives a little to CAP from each transaction.

QuoteCAP MasterCard®

Senior members and parents of cadets are eligible for the CAP affinity MasterCard® card through Bank of America.  In addition to low interest rates, each time the card is used in a transaction, a donation is made by Bank of America to support CAP.  Call 866.438.6262, TTY users, please call 800.833.6262 to apply.  Make sure to mention priority code H1EF when you call.

Simply my curiosity kicking in, but I noticed that it says senior members and parents of Cadets.  What about those Cadets who are of age (working-age, that is) and are eligible to apply for a credit card?  Does this still shut them out.

I'm willing to bet that the person taking your application isn't going to know the difference between a cadet and senior member.  Give it a shot, see what happens.

They single out Senior and parents of cadets because as a cadet, even a working age cadet, you probably lack a sufficient credit history to apply for that particular card with that interest rate.  Also, there can be a big negative context with a credit card company being "accussed" of advertising credit card to "kids".

Check out the interest rate carefully. I think MBNA is very high compared to other cards that are available.

Also, be advised that the MBNA name will be disappearing shortly. They have been bought out by Bank of America, and all the cards are slowly changing to the BofA logo. Interest rates are negotiable after having the card a year. If you pay it off every month, the rate is irrelevant.
