Well kids, the Conference is in Fresno this year.

mynetdude

blah, if you bring it anywhere close to Redding or south of that but north of Sacramento I'd come along! :D

Trust me. CAWG conference will never be north of Sacramento.

Flying Pig

For those of you who are coming, let me know if the Sq can assist you with anything, Ill see what we can do.  I know the Commander pretty well ;D

Rob: as the commander of the Fresno Sq, you will have your hands full and your pants to hold up.  Don't hesitate to call on the Sqs at Lemoore, Castle and even Bakersfield to give you a hand.

Where in Fresno?  I have free room: two step-daughters who live in Fresno.

Who wants to go to Fresno?     Isn't that Compton north?  >:D
If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything.
To err is human, to blame someone else shows good management skills.

Flying Pig

Well, not exactly, the ocean is a lot farther away.

Now that's the Army I remember, were you a Colonel in Venezuela's National Guard?

I would take you up on the offer but as a gentleman by act of CAP HQ., I must stay in a flea bag hotel.

The last time it was in Fresno was either in 1997 or 1998 at the Holiday Inn Downtown....only went to one day of the conference.  It was the first CAWG Conference that I attended.

Speaking of conferences, I have a few questions about the dress code.  I've sent emails to three different people here about the upcoming TXWG conference and got three different answers.

Our events:

Friday - commander's social

Saturday - morning classroom training
                  awards luncheon
                  afternoon classroom training
                  formal dinner

I have no idea what to wear to the commander's social.  I was told civilian attire like you're going out.  The training sessions are short sleeve shirt, no tie.  Not sure about the awards luncheon and I know the formal dinner is mess dress or civilian equivalent.  Is there any point in there where service dress is appropriate?  One of my answers I got was that you can wear service dress to the formal dinner if that's the best uniform you have, but that doesn't sound exactly correct.

I hate sounding ignorant, but I've never been and don't want to walk in a room in the wrong stuff...

Jason,

Since I will be there and, teaching a class here is my opinion.  Classroom/ afternoon luncheon= white aviator or polo shirt combo.  Friday night social= appropriate civilian attire (slacks/polo shirt or button down shirt).  You are correct for the Saturday night banquet.

See you there.
