Quick Website Question

I'm in the process of designing the website for my new CAP squadron (we have a temp site up, we aren't allowed to have the full site up until our squadron is fully chartered, however).

Due to the squadron being a school program squadron, I'm putting a link to the host high school (my high school) on the home page.  I seem to recall a statement regarding CAP websites (though it's not in the 110-1) that if you're site is on a .GOV domain, and you're going to place a link to another site not within the same domain, you need to place a disclaimer containing something along the lines of "You are now leaving the .GOV domain".

Is this required?

Another question (partially involving the previous) is, how do you, using MS Front Page, create a pop-up dialogue box when you transition from one page to another (or click on a hyperlink)?

Thanks!

This is the temporary site, btw - linked off of my group HQ site.

We aren't "Squadron 714" as the page banner states; that's what I had originally put there as the sample number we were going to use - and I forgot to remove it when I forwarded the pages to the CAWG webmaster to put on the server.

^ Don't mention you are not an actual squadron yet.  If anything, that will have a negative impact on recruiting people to actually start the SQD.
What's up monkeys?

If we want to have a website at this early stage, it's required by CAWG/IT.

What is the latest with your squadron? Are you a full squadron or still pending?

Just recieved our charter a few days ago.  PCR-CA-803

There's only one problem now.  My commander recieved the unit seal that I sent up for approval, and is questioning the motto (whether or not the wing & region commanders will approve it).  The motto is: Infensus et Fidelis, or, Ready and Faithful.  Aparrently, though, "infensus" also means "hostile" - and like I said, my group commander is questioning whether or not this will be approved ("Hostile" and ready?  I thought they were a public service group...)

We'll see how that goes.  Sad thing is we've already got $200 worth of t-shirts with that on it ready made and waiting to be paid for (by request of my unit commander).

Oh boy.

I can't imagine having things made with the logos before it was approved by Wing.

My teacher (now unit commander) wanted to "get a jump on things".

It's called potential waste.  As in Fraud, Waste and Abuse.  Because if Wing decides they want you to change the motto or otherwise disapprove the logo your unit has unnecessarily wasted funds - a situation which could have been prevented.

Not if it was personal money spent on it, it's not.

Just one minor suggestion, watch the size of your graphics.  Your Banner: http://gp7.cawg.cap.gov/school/Empty%20Banner.bmp is over 220 KB and loads slow.  Make it a JPG of about 30k and your site will load faster.

I've since changed all the graphics around just as you mentioned.  I realized I did that the first time I checked the site when it was uploaded.
