New Novelty Items at Vanguard

Has anyone noticed some of the new CAP novelty items on the VG website?  They have a lot more stuff than they used to.

Examples: Knives, watches, trailer hitch light with the CAP seal, sports bottles, mini-mags, pens, etc.

Maybe I just missed when they released them, but I might go for a CAP mini mag...

It's 10.95 and comes in a hard case.  I just looked at it some more and it isn't CAP Branded, so I suppose I'll pass...

You know what novelty item I would like, and would wear?  A quality, low profile, but cool looking shirt that I would wear in public.

Back in '00, my wing ran the ground ops side of the MER SAR College and we made some really high speed shirts for "Staff".  Simple black t-shirts with a Master GTM badge emblem in the left breast area with some small print on arched around the top that said "MER SAR COLLEGE" and bellow, horizontally, it said "GROUND OPERATIONS BRANCH".  Discreet, low profile, but cool.

This is more of a training uniform shirt for work, but something like this.  No huge cartoon emblem on the back with a C-182 breaking the sound barrier, just a discreet design.  Understand?  Or am I making a goofball of myself again.

2) Great idea, but VG's certainly not the right company to do it.  For those things, I'd rather enlist a local screen printer or embroiderer to do the job.  Might even get them to give a donation by way of a discount.

Ok, so then what's up with the new mock turtleneck with CAP on the collar? They're available in white and navy.  Who are they for? Who asked for those? How about having the reverse US flag available instead? At least that's an actual uniform item!

Also means you can't add it into your sale while buying CAP items online. You have to call during their business hours to add it in. Thankfully it takes them weeks to ship your order, so you have plenty of time to make the call.

I keep telling you folks, MAIL in the order! You can add any item you want, from any section of their web site, and if it's typed or done right on your computer, it's pretty hard for them to get thingd wrong. I had my last two get processed in less than two weeks, and the one back ordered Omar-sized leather jacket was delivered on the 16th day.
