Illinois Wing Radio Check In

When I left Active Duty in the early 90's, I moved back to the Chicago area. I bought a Radio Shack Scanner
model 20-305. I programmed ATC, local police and fire, etc, and the Civil Air Patrol. One evening I had the scanner on, and at about 1900 on 147 or 155 mhz, There was a roll call check in for the Illinois Wing. It would go with Red Fox so and so calling other units. They would give out news and info. I am now located in Florida, and found my scanner in a box of old stuff. Does the Florida Wing do something similar to this, and if so, what are the freqs and times?

It depends where you are in Florida. Some CAP units hold regular scheduled VHF nets. However the frequencies are not listed or given out, unless of course you go to Radio Shack and ask them for local scanner frequencies. Your best bet is to join a local CAP Squadron.
