g. Disaster Relief Ribbon with "V" Device. The Disaster Relief Ribbon with a silver "V" device may be awarded to any CAP member who participates in a disaster relief effort for a Presidential declared disaster. Participation must be verified by the on-scene commander. Participation in any Presidential declared disaster since 1990 qualifies. The Disaster Relief Ribbon with "V" device may be earned even if the member has not met the requirement of paragraph 21(f), above. A maximum of one "V" device will be worn. Individuals participating in more than one Presidentially declared disaster may add a bronze clasp to the ribbon with "V" device beginning on the left side of the device.

Wow, the board is SPECTACULARLY tone deaf tonight.

People are dying in this disaster by the thousands, and y'all are whining about not getting proficiency hops, and speculating about getting ribbon bling DURING the event.

Tacky and improper, at best. At least wait until most of the dead are buried before submitting your paperwork, ok?

Would that be like a "Commander's Commendation Award (National)" given after a hurricane?

Some of us are actually working to make sure that those who are taking the risk to work through the crisis get appropriately awarded, something that CAP is historically very bad at doing.

Perhaps you should consider looking at this through a perspective of how members are working to help other members rather than looking for the worst in what people are posting.

I know we're all getting a little stir crazy, but let's keep the big picture in mind. Spam's got the right idea here, so step back, take a deep breath, have a sip or two of your favorite libation(s), and find something less serious to direct the tacky humor towards.
