Passing of Jim Mallett

BoG Members, Command Council, Corporate Staff, and friends of CAP,


It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that I inform you of the passing of  my dear friend and advisor, Mr. James 'Jim' Mallett last
evening.  He served his country as an Air Force Officer for 23 years and on his retirement continued his service to our great nation with Civil Air Patrol accumulating a total of 50 years of service.


Jim was recognized for his numerous contributions with a "Life Membership" in CAP, a rare and important honor saved only for those
giving exceptional service. Jim was always humble and generous with his co-workers and a true visionary.  His leadership moved CAP into a relevant and important force in our nations Aerospace Education.  Jim's premise was that true citizenship outcomes begin with our nation's youth.  He believed that sharing the power and excitement of powered flight, created a life-long love of aviation for many.  It is my honor and pleasure to have served with Jim Mallett over the past two plus decades and he will certainly be missed.

Please join me in keeping his wife Susan, and all their family in our thoughts and prayers.

Jim's service is confirmed for 4 p.m.

Friday at Dalraida United Methodist Church
3817 Atlanta Highway, 36109.
Visitation and meal will be afterwards.
