I have a member who had the MS rating but it expired in 2011. Our plan now is to retrain him from scratch, however OpsQuals is only showing the renewal tasks even though he expired in 2011. Is there a way to either zero out, or reset his MS SQTR page so that is looks like he has to complete all tasks? In other words to make it look like he never had the qualification?

Thanks for any assistance.

You may be making this harder than it has to be. I'd just ignore the online stuff, print a blank SQTR, and work off of that document exclusively.

You may certainly cover all of the MS tasks for the sake of thorough coverage; however, only the renewal tasks and one sortie are required for requalification. You cannot reset the system, as far as I am aware. I'm not sure if revoking a qualification would achieve you goal.

NC: That was my direction to the ES Training officer, I just wanted to see if we could reset the entry page.

Pace: I heard through the grapevine that there was a way to reset the entry screen. If not, no problem.

Thank you.

If expired, the system default value is to show you the renewal tasks only, unless you toggle to "all" tasks.

Go look carefully at his MS entry again, with renewal tasks up. You should notice a bar (either red or blue, cant remember) all the way across the page which says in very small font, something like "Show All Tasks".  Click on that bar.  It should then show you everything.

Then, simply update all tasks as your SET qualified examiner completes his eval of the trainee, and submit.

I went around and around on this with my Wing DOS a year ago for one of my renewing GTLs, and there's precious little documentation on this feature, and my DOS could not read the small font on the bar to toggle renew/all tasks.

Never noticed that option. Thanks, Spam.

Had a moment to look it up in Ops Quals.
Its the blue bar up top, which states, quote:

"Click to view recent update to all tasks submitted for this SQTR. (Only renewal tasks are shown below)"

When clicked, option expands the list and the following label asserts on the bar in red:
"Click to show only renewal SQTR tasks. (Tasks are read-only in this area)"

I've tried to edit those tasks, but it won't let me change them. Just fyi, my permission level is DOS.

Wing level DOS, or Group, or Squadron?

The pecking order and how you and the member fit within it may be impacting this.  If you don't "own" the member, it may not be allowing you to screw with current, approved tasks.  Which makes sense, I suppose... if you think someone is a monster in the cockpit and more dangerous to others than Jim 'Wash Out' Pfaffenbach, ("Hot Shots") then you need to go through his chain to wipe his tasks, not just on your own hook.
