Hello all, didn't see anything like this already posted so figure i'd give it a shot.

The following links contain a ton of excellent resources for both Adult Members and Cadets on topics such as leadership, aerospace power, doctrine, etc. It's mainly active-duty Air Force focused, but some of the items have a direct correlation to life in CAP. Basic AF Doctrine and knowledge of strategic vision and plans should be something that all members, especially commanders are familiar with. General Shaud, the writer of An Air Force Strategic Vision for 2020-2030 lists "Military Support to Civil Authorities" as one of the 5 critical capabilities the Air Force should focus on. CAPs mission falls directly in line with this.

So here are some useful links to free materials to boost your PD Library. Living list, I'll add to it when I find other good materials.

Good stuff. Applicable to the military minded, CAP and the civilian public service world as well. Lots of stuff in there about planning at the different levels, budgeting (the PPBES...if you've never dealt with it, it is an experience!), leadership, and strategic thinking. General Lorenz's book always finds its way to lists like these, as does "Sharing Success--Owning Failure: Preparing to Command in the Twenty-First Century Air Force" by General David Goldfein. He is now the Vice Chief of Staff. Both are great additions to any library.

"Commanding an Air Force Squadron in the 21st Century" - should be required reading by all new commanders. It is an excellent read, one that I found most valuable when I assumed command three+ years ago.
