Ideally the CAPF 45 will be made completely obsolete as the data s contains moves into e-services

My guess is that I'll be a 60 year member before that happens, given the current rate of progress.

National HQ has been in a "Paper Reduction Mode" for about ten years. The only way to get a F45 is to download from E-Services. I doubt we'll see the hardcopy available again.

This form just needs to be removed and replaced with a report from eServices.  Nearly all of the information is there now so they just need to create a report module for mimick the 45.  I know, easier said than done.

I think awards tracking is going to be the biggest hurdle.

Maybe. But they could treat it like the ICS/IS courses in Ops Quals. The member uploads a copy of their certificate and/or CAPF 120 or 2A and the appropriate commander validates it.

That depends on the member, which has its own problems.

It's actually not hard at all.

I agree that it is technically easy to do but when you add in the "CAP factor" things seem to be harder than they should.   ;)

The personnel officer could also do the uploading.  Not much different than they do today with filing and documenting.

There is an online CAPF 120 that is in the test stage, which will possibly add the F120 awards into the National database.

That will be a start, but you would either need to do the upload thing or expand the module for all the ribbons that are not on the F120 (Community Services, CD, Find, etc)

The original request received was for the CAPF 120 only, however I've been working to get all the others from CAPR 39-3 included in a later version.  The IT Committee is also looking at what we need to do to get everything in the CAPF 45 and CAPF 66 in eServices.

In regards to entering old decorations, there will be a facility where certain personnel (Commanders and likely DP) will be able to enter old decorations.
