//By this definition, you need at least two flights (minimum 7 each) (total of 14) plus a flight sergeant and flight commander each (total of 4) plus a first sergeant and a squadron commander and a guidon bearer == grand total of 17 cadets minimum, in order to perform "squadron drill" and even begin to worry about chapter 5

Turns out that while you can believe me for some basics about drill and ceremonies, you should definitely double check my basic arithmetic.

14+4+3 is 21, not 17...  (duh)

I  had problems with my command voice at the beginning, but you get used to it after a while.

Cadet Allen,

It's generally considered a bad practice to comment on threads that'd haven't been replied to in over 2 months (at least that's my standard). Doing so will cause people to be irritated (often more than they really should be) and they will comment back to you with their displeasure. Also, if you really feel the need to comment on an old thread, it would be wise to have some input that is a bit more helpful.

Good on you for reading old posts, it's an important way to brush up on your knowledge, but it's best to let the sleeping posts lie. :D

Meerkat,

With all due respect, if old threads are not to be commented on, they should be locked.

Aaaaaand, he's not the one to be doing the locking. We have been doing better with this, and have set a flexible limit of about a year before locking. It's not perfect, but it seems to be doing OK.

Didn't mean to imply that he was.  If the people who run the board don't want it commented on, then they should lock it.  Otherwise it is fair game to all

JC004

We do have the older threads locked.  If it's open, we intended it to be open.  They are actually set to six months.

Garibaldi

There's not a way to pin a post saying "don't necro an old post" to each and every thread. We'll just have to live with it.
Still a major after all these years.
