Hello all,
I have just completed my solo flight last week through CAP.  I will keep on flying and moving up until I hopefully get Private Pilots license.  I am 18 years old.  I am currently also gtm2 trainee.  I was curious what it takes to be part of the aircrew as an observer.  What tests and qualifications must be met to be part of aircrew? I am from NC wing.  Thank you.

Like any other ops qualification you should check the task guide, or the online sqrt. To be an observer you must first be a scanner

Thank you.  Correction I was looking at a scanner.

if you're a GTM2*, then you've already qualified as GTM3, so you should not find this hard to understand: go into eServices, Ops Quals module, and select the MS SQTR, just as you have for GTM3 and 2. Then get your Commanders approval, go start studying the mission aircrew spec guide, find some MS/MO SET qualified trainers to supervise/evaluate you, and start signing up for SAREX/DREXs.

Understood.  Thank you.  I have gotten in contact with my commander and I am about to hopefully working on the sqtr soon.  Thanks for your help.
