AF Semi-Formal Uniform

I am between a rock and a hard place when reading through the 39-1 about the AF Semi-Formal Dress Uniform.

My confusion starts with the "New Style" and the "Old Style".. What is the difference?

I am going to go to supply to get a service coat next meeting but I am confused about when I wear it if I should wear a bow tie  or an actual tie.

I notice the slight difference between the coats seeing as the pockets on them. Does that separate new and old?

Yes
The old coat has the pockets and the new only has the pocket welt on the left breast.
