I am happy  to report that the Albany Composite Squadron GA002 has completed its move to our new home. We have moved from out 1100sqft facility to a new facility with approximately 10,000sqft of CAP space.

The owner of the building (My Boss) is a fairly new CAP member. Last year we started talking about using the space and the benefit the Squadron could get. His daughter joined shortly after him and enjoys it as well.

This is one of three buildings he has that we can utilize. The CC and DCC as well as several family members completed the move a week ahead of time.

I will NOW have to stay in CAP for a while as this is one of the facilities I am in charge of for EH&S.

I'm just going to be the wise guy and point out you haven't listed hatchways and ladderwells.

He owns his own twin engine plane and likes to teach Aerospace, he also has a twelve year old daughter that just joined. He made a long term commitment personally to the Commander. I do not foresee any issues arising.

It may however be strange for me if I decide to jump ship.

Is the building a former Builders Emporium?

Hopefully he will stay healthy. Sometimes one member makes all the difference to a Squadron.   8)

The building is a former McGregor Golf manufacturing facility. 20 acres behind the building that can be used for squadron activities as well.

Fortunately for himself and us he is a very healthy individual. We are all very happy about it and appreciate his generosity. He has put the overall responsibility in my hands with reasonable use.

I met him through Civil Air Patrol and went to work with him about a year after that.

We will have a formal open house in a month or so and will invite public.

I am working on plans to have SLS, CLC, TLC, and other training at the facility. I am considering doing that.

Maybe I can become a Wing or Region Commander one day and have a space of my own.
