Now mandatory at 24 months, no more 36 month option, no more annual Self Inspections.

The new checklists are much nicer.

Did you give the mandatory 60 days advance notice of the inspection (12e)?

We're not giving, we're getting. I do believe due notice was given initially, but the date got moved up for some reason. "Mongo merely a pawn in game of life."

I wonder if they went over this at the most recent IG course .. I somewhat wouldn't be surprised if they didn't ;-)

No, they will not.  That is the point, to end the root canals units have been enduring.

The checklist says "what to look for", "what equals compliance", and "the the grade for non-compliance".

SUIs are all about "compliance", so compliance checklists are wholly appropriate.

At the Wing level, the SUI is actually called a "Compliance Inspection".  It's not the Inspector's job to do subjective "you should be doing this like this...", only what you must do per the regulations.

Look at the Grade Res Calculator on the web page that the checklists are on.  The Compliance Rating sections match the checklists, but there are also Mission Rating sections that aren't covered in any of the documentation on that page.  It appears that this is where the inspection team would give subjective grades on the units performance in the listed areas.

As an aside, I'm not quite sure how I would document compliance with fluid replacement and workload limitations at cadet activities.

See my reply to Eclipse, as it appears that subjective evaluation is still alive and well.

ETA that the regulation references an eServices report generated before the inspection, which may provide some objective criteria for the Mission Rating sections.
