Does anyone know what happened at the Command Council Meeting this past week in DC?  Unlike the past 6 years nothing was announced, posted, highlighted or publicized by CAP.

What did they accomplish, any announcements made on corporate governance changes/ clarifications or adoption of revised regulations?  Any information on how the 2014 "plan" is being met or fulfilled?

Anything??

Since the command council has no authority anymore, it seems these meetings are nothing but briefings. Hopefully the various commanders will forward the briefings on to the rest of us.

Also noticeable is the lack of pictures from the CAP Legislative Day on Capitol Hill last Thursday.  The past few years it was neat to view updates and photos shared via NHQ Public Affairs during and following the event.

Oh, but they're not just briefings.

There was a substantial set of break out sessions for Strategic Planning. The Command Council split into like 5 or 6 groups by some subject matter areas and each group addressed strategic needs within that subject matter.   I imagine they will subsequently brief-back the National Commander on these strategic items and then, with some staff work between now and the August boards, you'll see some strategic initiatives and direction emerge from those discussions.

Last year there was a team from NHQ snapping pictures. I ran into them 2-3 times during the day. I didn't see that team this year (though it's possible I just missed them).

It was a pretty low-key day, overall. Except for my contingent getting lost in the Senate office building.  :o
