I just wanted to clarify something. When there is a question of which is correct we should use the most current reg correct? The reason I'm asking is that the cadet oath is listed in a couple of different places and it's different in each! The parent guide, in '06, says to serve faithfully. However, Learn to Lead and 52-16, in '12, both show will serve faithfully. We should be using the one from the Learn to Lead and reg correct?

Correct. This is the proper version that you'll find in almost all current documents. Unfortunately, the "to serve faithfully" version still floats around. I'm not sure if this ever was the proper phraseology or where it came from, but all I know is that it's incorrect.

The REG always prevails....unless two regs contradict then by rule of thumb it is the newest that prevails.  If in doubt call up the chain for clarification.

I always thought if two regs conflicted that you used the one that suits your needs.   >:D

Also if the regs say you cannot do it, ignore the regulation.
