This was recently put on the capmembers.com site for USAF and CAP members.

http://www.capmembers.com/cap_university/cap-familiarization-course/

There is a message from the National Commander about the course, a pre-test, the course, and a test with a certificate.

Well......okay....it is a good start.

Last Saturday we participated in a flag ceremony at the UNLV vs Arizona foot ball game.
A couple hundred airman from Nellis, 30 CAP members and 50 or so fireman, SAR, ARRL, EMT and other first responders from the area participated.

I was so angry about how many Airman simply did not know CAP existed......they knew about JROTC but "we have an axillary" was usually the response we got.

I will say it again....and continue saying it.  We need a page in the Enlisted Promotion Study Guide and have at least a Page or Two in the Officer Training curriculum when all the new guys are learning what each MAJCOM, DRU and SRA are all about.

That's not too much to ask for!  [darn] it!

You and I know it's not going to happen, and I will stress again not Ma blue's job to indoctrinate it's members on us it's ours.

Disagree......on both counts....but I'm not going to get too hung up about it.  I am going to start requesting a few minutes of the First Sgt/Chief's/Top Three/CGO councils' time and do a "Hey!  We are here! Briefing" and try to make it a reoccurring thing.

i would imagine that those AD personnel who need to know about CAP for their job do know about CAP.

Sir,

You and I both know that the major players on an installation know about us.  You and I also know any page in the PDG and briefing from any alphabet council or club on base will be promptly brain dumped.  If we want people to know especially the general AF population it is our job to spread the word and not Ma blue's.  This is the same dynamic for units who want to play in the es game withing their wing but have a hard time doing so.

At least we rated a 1/3rd page blurb in Airman Magazine: The Book. At least the last one they did.  :)

I was gonna say that the folks who work at the AFRCC and CAP-USAF know us really well.

I just took and completed it, nice little introduction course.

I agree with lordmonar that introduction courses like this should be included in the Professional Development Courses of the Military.

If you don't know about CAP and/or the USCGAux, how can you call upon their assets if you need them? Just makes sense to me.
