I would just like to know who all is going or who has already been. I'm thinking about applying for the scholarship for this summer but i'm not sure if it's worth the time. It seems like a great opportunity but I know my chances of getting in are slim. So is it worth it?
On the battlefield, the military pledges to leave no soldier behind. As a nation, let it be our pledge that when they return home, we leave no veteran behind.

Which one?  There is no "national" flight academy anymore, National has decided to fund Regional academies instead.

Since the landscape of the activities is changing, it's hard to say if it's "worth it", but you'll have a hard time finding a better
bang for your buck in terms of flight instruction.

I'm confused now. I received an email from my squadron about the program and the website is still there. And it's updated and everything. Anyways the program is in Pensacola, Florida. The program is only 5 days long to begin with. It's called the Ambition.

^^I know exactly what you are talking about...I'm applying for that too.

Here is the linky with all the info http://www.nationalflightacademy.com/

BTW, I heard it was pretty awesome.

That is not a CAP activity.

"The National Flight Academy, LLC is a subsidiary of the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation. The Academy is an educational activity authorized but not endorsed or financially supported by the United States Navy."

^^True...but it is still a great opportunity (especially with a scholarship)

Not saying it isn't, I really don't know.  They aren't a "flight" academy and yo won't learn how to fly a plane.

"Ambition is next-generation innovative play."

It appears to be a space-camp like experience focused on a simulated aircraft carrier that costs about $1200.

If you get the scholarship and go, let us know how it was.  Sounds interesting.

Sounds like a nice opportunity if you receive the scholarship.  It seems that there is a little work involved with the application for the scholarship though.  Just look through Chapter 8 of Learn to Lead to assistance in writing essays, even if you have to read ahead.  The resources in there are great.

Did you get the scholarship?

Yep.  :)

It was relatively easy to get a scholarship. All I had to do was write the required essays and fill some information about myself (age, grade, etc.). From what NFA representatives told me (and from my experience), if you apply for the scholarship according to the instructions, you will get a scholarship.

That's awesome. I got it too. When are you going?
