What is "traffic"?

I'm taking my ICUT practical course today, and I'm just reviewing the course material beforehand.

The last segment talks about nets and signing in and handling traffic, but it fails to describe what traffic is. It seems like a stupid question but what is traffic?

"traffic" is any formal/informal message sent over the radio net.

The last segment is talking about formal message traffic.

[Eclipse]

"Traffic" is the messages themselves.

These messages (CAPTalk) are "traffic" too.
