New Iowa Wing Commander

Congratulations to Col. Mike Mouw who took command of the Iowa Wing yeasterday. I say this as an ILWG member because Mike was the commander of IL Group 1 until early last year when he moved to Iowa to take a new job. It was my pleasure to serve as in Deputy Group Commander for most of his tenure in IL. I haven't found a more talented or dedicated senior member in a long time. Good job, Col. It was a great ceremony yesterday at the Ankeny Regional Airport.  The new Vice Commander is Major Cindi Wachholz of the NW Iowa Composite Squadron.  She was promoted to Major shortly after the Change of Command.

Col Mouw was my Deputy Group 1 Commander in Illinois Wing. He was the right man at the right time to take over Group 1 from me. For the short time he was commander he did a great job! I am privileged to have been able to work with him and I am honored to be able to say we are friends.   :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap:

Col Mike Mouw was a member of the seminar group I advised at NSC in 2008.  He had all the earmarks of one who would ascend in leadership then.  Very proud of Mike's -- Col Mouw's accomplishment and achievements.
