Anyone know who the new Pacific Region Commander will be? Is the change of command the new year?

PHall

Change of command is not scheduled until Region Conference in September.

AdAstra

A selection committee has been appointed, but I haven't see any announcement yet calling for applications.

The change of command is scheduled for May 2013 at the Pacific Region Conference in Santa Maria, CA.

Don't see why not.

Hey, let's give him a chance to be a great historian first.  ;)

If they follow true to form the new CC will be:
1. Former Wing Commander
2. Pilot
3. Ops heavy background

Others need not apply.

PHall

Should be interesting to see who applies for the job. ;)

I can not think of anyone who was ever a Region CC without being a Wing CC.

BUT, in the past PCR/CC has not always been a hot shot pilot, ES/OPS guy. Now others Regions may vary.

Nothing wrong with being a strong AE, Cadet Program officer or just a "great" overall leader.

JMHO ...

It's a requirement to be a Wing Commander before you can apply to be a Region Commander.

See CAPR 35-9, 22 Oct 2012, Paragraph 10 for all of the requirements you have to satisify to apply to be a region commander.

I am told, on good authority, that only two people have so far expressed any interest in the job: Ken Parris, former CAWG CC, and Brian Bishop from Oregon.  I also hear that Bishop has the unofficial blessing of the current Region CC.

Well, Ken just got appointed National IG, so moving to PCR/CC doesn't sound like a wise move right now.
