Hello all,
We are still in desperate need of staff applicants, cadet and senior member, for the Joint Dakota Cadet Leadership Encampment 2012. At the moment, on the cadet side, we still need 8-12 cadets to fill the allocated staff positions.
I know, I know, Camp Grafton, ND is too far to go, right!?! It would be well worth your time and effort. There will be powered and glider orientation flights (for NCR cadets only, however) the day prior to encampment officially getting started, an opportunity to rappel, to take a whack at Leadership Reaction courses, ride in a Black Hawk, and, above all, partake in leadership-focused training. Yes, there is still all the encampment classes, but each day we will be focusing on what is takes to be an excellent leader. To be able to teach and set examples of these qualities, we need an excellent staff.
Your's truly is the Cadet Commander, and if I can make it from south-central Kansas to 20 minutes south of the border with our neighbors to the north, than you can too. Please, message me for details. I know everyone on here would benefit from this opportunity.

What is the difference between a regular encampment and a leadership encampment?

Cant emphasize this enough,

The encampment at Camp Grafton is outstanding, and the guard unit located there has been extremely accommodating in the past.

We welcome cadets from all wings and look forward to making this encampment one of the best.

There really is none except that we are focusing on leadership more then say a regular encampment would. All encampments have to follow a set curriculum, but it only fills up part of the week. Every cadet that has been to an encampment would tell you the things they remember are those extra things. We are filling up the extra part of the week with leadership oriented activities and classes, like Leadership Reaction courses.
