the NSC page at http://members.gocivilairpatrol.com/cap_university/course_schedules/national-staff-college-nsc/ is a pre-planning page for a 2013 NSC. Anyone know if this is accurate, why no 2012 NSC, and why the dates are Sunday-Sunday instead of the traditional Saturday-Saturday?

There won't be a 2012 NSC.  Some discussions from previous years is that the fall timeframe causes budgetary issues, and the availability of facilities might have changed.

I also understand that the curriculum is getting a refresh.

Heh, wow. ..and I almost put it off for one more year. Glad I didn't. It was well worth every minute and dollar spent.

Though I think we're having a Seminar 2 sorta reunion at Kaneohe Bay in a couple weeks .. ;)

Now if the award would get posted .. ;-) It's somewhere between Wing and NHQ for several weeks now.

Easy dude.  It's been taken care of at our level.  I know a Chaplain who waited almost a year and a half to get his award, with or without friends in high places, if you know what I mean.

Who has been selected for the 2013 NSC?

I considered applying, but when I started adding up the costs, I hit $2K (half was travel) and still had more, I decided it wasn't worth it, even though it's the only requirement left for my Level V.

Phil Hirons, Jr.

I was considering it but I would have been away for Mothers' Day and my 10th Wedding Anniversary. Did not seem like a plan for happy home life. ;D ;D

Hah!

I discussed it with our Group PDO, since she comes to our squadron meetings for Character Dev. She is a former Army LTC, and is the Group Chaplain as well.

What I said was to ask NHC for a ROTC equivalency. She said that although it is possible, consider RSC opportunity for networking.

I thought and thought and thought. Networking is great but the problem is that it is offered days I have work. Requesting a week off, is not going to sit well here. Then the ROTC I took, it was back in well, I'd rather not say. I thought and thought and thought. I had not requested the equivalency earlier. It may have been some time ago. And I sent the equivalency request, it was approved!!!!

No RSC for me...

Now I am waiting for the Wing to decide if I get Level IV...
