i was reading CAPR 52-16 chapter 6 part b,I see that it says that if you complete a AFJROTC camp a cadet can earn the encampment credit but i know a couple cadets including myself are in Army JROTC and one of those cadets have earned the encampment badge from doing JCLC (junior Cadet leadership Course) am I also aloud to get the encampment credit this way.

Get a copy of your certificate of attending the training and a copy of the syllibus and have your Commander send it to NHQ.  They will determine if it meets the requirments.

I too am an Army JROTC cadet and a CAP cadet, and IIRC, only AFJROTC camps count because they are exposed to the USAF side of things more than AJROTC. No harm in asking, though, because I do not know for sure. Only thing making me think that is how (in the case of the ribbons), they do include all JROTC programs.
EDIT: I didn't read all the way through. If one kid got it, than you will definately should too. My bad.

If mine goes through then I will PM you so that you know how to receive the credit as well. :D

There is .. however something to be said though, that encampment is more than getting a box checked.

Your CAP experience will benefit by progressing through all of it, instead of finding equivalencies.

But in all seriousness, you'll have a great time at Encampment if you do end up going.

You know, Littleguy, I just realized- why not go to Encampment, and use your JROTC and CAP experience, to really excel as a Basic, kind of get your foot in the door The Old Fashioned Way™. I imagine that it will help you get a position on staff next go-round, if you so desire.

Why spend $200 on an experince that he does not NEED to advance in the cadet program.  He can take that $200 and go to a NCSA.

The rules allow for subsitutions....don't give the guy a hard time for looking into it.

If that comment was addressed at me (I think it was...), I'm sorry for coming off as giving Littleguy a hard time. I guess I was trying to support an experience which really affected me, and one that I really enjoyed.
In reflection, the JROTC version of Encampment will probably teach you many/most of the same leadership lessons that Encampment does. I guess it might be a matter of whether or not you want to fly in a UH-60 or not  8).

I've flown in a blackhawk twice within a years time. Once with CAP, once with JROTC. One of my JROTC instructors is a former blackhawk pilot, and my squadron commander used to fly with him  8) . You were not giving me a hard time, it is cool.

1) - Not all encampments cost $200.

B) - The experiences are not interchangeable, whether we're talking about AFJROTC vs. CAP, or encampment vs. an NCSA.

To the OP - only the respective AFJROTC activities count towards the Mitchell Encampment credit.
