Does anyone know what LWBJ stands for ? It's on the FLWG  Winter Encampment equipment packing list. I can't find anywhere that tells what it stands for. Thanks!  :-\

Lightweight Blue Jacket is my guess.

Long wheel base Jeep? Oh, you said packing list... ;)

I'm with esst-tset up there. Is it under optional or required items? That might give a clue.

That just made my night  :) .

Some of these packing lists, when combined with the location of the activity, you need a long wheel base Jeep to get your stuff into them. ;-)

When in doubt contact the individual who sent out the packing list

I just checked the FLWG Encampment packing list and it says "Air Force Light Weight Blue Jacket" with the option of wearing a civilian blue or black jacket if the AF jacket is not owned.

I would like to state for the record:

I am a C/Capt and I do not own a "LWBJ"

A) They're very scarce
I don't honestly know of any other place that would have any other than AAFES.

B) AAFES charges like $100 for one

I suppose its mainly because I don't do winter encampments, however I always figured if we were going to start requiring them we'd need better methods of finding/ordering them..

If it were me, I think I would almost consider getting a chest size from cadets then charging them $100 more for the jackets in the encampment fee. However I see logistical problems with that.

Well, it's an AF uniform item, and that's the primary source. Can you buy Boy Scout uniforms from anyone else besides a Boy Scout source?

You get what you pay for. Have you priced a similar jacket on the outside, with equivalent features? Quality clothes aren't cheap.

You got that right. T-shirts are bad enough. Getting a bunch of jackets from AAFES would be asking too much.

In retrospect that was a bad idea. We had a cadet at one of the encampments I went to, that a youth large could fit and he ordered a XL.

The jacket order would turn out terrible, terrible.
