Eaker Master List

For my website, I want to have a list of all past cadets from my squadron that received the Eaker and Spaatz.

Firstly, is there a master Eaker award list? Other than NHQ, haha.

But on second thought.... it would be useless unless I had the unit names as well... And that is probably not available other than NHQ.

Well, if any of you have any input. Thanks in advance!

NHQ has the information in their database. However, earlier Eaker Awards (Pre-2000) might be a bit spotty, even though it is a fairly new award.

On a related note: A couple of years back, I tried to get a list of Wilson Awards. Alas, there is no "Master List." NHQ staff was very helpful, and did a quick database query, which turned up current members who held the Wilson Award. When I noted that several names were missing, the staffer extended the query to "recently deceased" (or some similar criteria). Still, I knew that there were names missing. Since the award goes back before the computer systems were installed, we eventually ended up manually searching the lists published in old CAP newspapers.

The Eaker search should be much easier.

Spaatz awards have been numbered since the award's inception in 1964. The master list is kept at National HQ.

Some Eaker awards were issued unnumbered for retroactive Phase IV completion - previously, a bronze star attached to the Earhart Award denoted Phase IV completion. Again, the master list is kept at NHQ CAP.

The current Mitchell and Earhart award master number lists date back from 1979; previously they were unnumbered. Even then, many numbers are not in the computer record; I had mine re-recorded at NHQ. Out of the nearly 60,000 Mitchells and 16,000 Earharts there's probably another 10,000 unnumbered Mitchells and about 5000 unnumbered Earharts. (Estimates gleaned from 1964-1978 from CAP Annual Reports to Congress, when they listed the annual numbers of Mitchells and Earharts.)

My Earhart is dated 1968 and is numbered. My Mitchell (1966) is not numbered. It would appear that numbering was introduced somewhere between December 1966 and June 1968.

There is also no list of the Cadet COPs which preceeded the Mitchell.

I don't think the Mitchell numbering started until much later. Michael Moore from WAWG has/had a database online, and the lowest Mitchell numbers that had been put in were from the late '70s.
