Well I have decided to take a job in the Great State of Montana!  I'm sad to be stepping down as a Group Commander in Texas as I have made so many great friends here but as we all know life happens.

I was curious if anyone has any info on Units in the Great Falls area or any other info on the Wing.

I used to be the SQ/CC of the unit out there.  I think you might find the new SQ/CC on the boards here if you ask.  It is a great unit.  Great group of cadets and a well-rounded squadron overall.  PM me if you want more info.

Montana is awesome! I would not mind living their myself, but as a transplanted Southern Californian, its just to little to close to the Arctic Circle for me! If there is a place in America that deserves to be called "God's Country" , I think Montana would be high on the list for the title.

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee."

I seriously looked at the Montana Highway Patrol.  My sister lives in Montana.  However, the $20 an hour pay cut didnt go over well with the wife!  Maybe when I retire Ill go up there and fly EMS or something. I know the cost of living is less up there.....but not $20 an hour less! :'(

My brother is stationed at Malstrom, and is in the GTF squadron.  I will pass on his info if you would like it.

The commander is a member of this board.  I will let him know.

Appreciate it guys!  I did speak to a Major.... Timermean? Triman? Cant remember.  I know there are two CAP Units.  One on the base thats pretty active it seems and a Senior Squadron that meets once a month.  Sad that they only meet once a month as the program has more to offer.

Treiman.  He is awesome awesome awesome.  He gets stuff done and knows the business real well.  He is the commander of MT-012.  The only better commander was his predecessor I hear.

That all depends on where your coming from and where in Montana you are living.  I used to live in Hamilton which is in the Bitterroot valley and it was more expensive than here in central Illinois. So much so i had to move out of there.

I was looking at Helena or up in that area. A member of my unit (my old unit) was the MT Wing ES officer before he relocated to CA about 2 yrs ago.

When I talked with him he seemed high speed.  Not sure what im going to do when I get out there.  Not much work for a former group commander like me.  Maybe Ill go back to just being an IC and Opilot and help cadets out!

I hear Treiman is a real meanie who hates all life on the planet. He is, however, a [darn] fine looking specimen.  8)

There's plenty of work for a former Gp/CC, especially one who is going to be in the area for an extended period of time and doesn't mind rolling up their sleeves and getting to work.

Being an IC will definitely be very helpful in this neck of the woods.

Again he is a great commander...had a great mentor show him the ropes I hear....a bit of a work horse though...
