Innovation in the checklist industry has found its way to the Sheppard Air Force Base Self-Inspection Program through the Management Internal Control Toolset. MICT is a web-based self-inspection software tool used to manage, track and close self-identified work center deficiencies. The days of pulling out stacks of binders for inspectors Air Force wide may come to an end.

Sounds like a great idea.  In fact wing (or groups) could just post it to their website and require subordinate units to perform the self evaluations ahead of the IG visit.  Than the IG would know about all the write ups and that would result in a quicker inspection.  I like it >:D

I'm suddenly reminded of CAPR 123-3 12.b.2

QuoteDuring the period between scheduled SUIs each subordinate unit will accomplish a mandatory self-assessment, as described in paragraph 13, below, approximately every 12 months starting with the anniversary of the unit's most recent SUI. A written report documenting the results of the self-assessment will be provided up one level of command (i.e., squadron to group, group to wing) as well as to the Wing/IG, within 30 days of completing the self-assessment, so results may be used internally to enhance mission accomplishment.

My wing is on a 2-year SUI cycle which wing says negates the need for a self-assessment (don't get me started, it is what it is), however I had my commanders do self-assessments within 90 days of assuming command.  At least for the last 4 years, that kept my units in compliance with the letter, if not the spirit of the reg.
