Ok. So I am a former cadet who crossed over to the "dark side." I finally made the plunge and bought my greys. However I can't find the blazer any where. I don't know if I am calling it by the wrong name or what. and I checked vanguard. So if any one can point me in the right direction as to where I can buy it I would greatly appreciate it. :D

The blazer is just a dark blue civilian blazer - you can buy one anywhere you'd get a suit.

Living in Chicago, we've gone on a Thrift store binge. Usually we look for odds and ends like Polaroid Cameras, Olde tetris games, etc etc. One time I actually took a look at the clothing, and found a few nice blazers at prices between $2.50 and $4.25. The best part? It was half off day! :P

I've even found suits made by designers, hand made suits, a suit made during the USSR days in Ukraine (alas, it did not fit me, this party member was quite scrawnier than me).

My question is, is there a preferred style? Double breasted, 3 button, 4 button, etc?

hope this helps capm 39-1 pg 80

Blazer type, semi form-fitted, drape, single-breasted, two- or three-button
model with two lower patch pockets, optional breast patch pocket on left side.
Material is dark blue flannel, tropical worsted, or similar commercial blend.
With arms hanging naturally, sleeves will end approximately 1/4 inch from
the heel of the thumb. Bottom edge of coat should extend 3 to 3 1/2 inches
below the top of the thigh. If the blazer is removed and a white aviator shirt
with Epaulets complete with gray nameplate and gray epaulets is worn, Table
4-5 rules must be followed.
