KS Wing Winter Encampment - Now Accepting Staff Applications

The 2011 Kansas Winter Encampment is now accepting applications for Cadet Command Staff and Cadet Staff. Please go to the KS wing website at kswg.cap.gov for details about how to apply. Application deadline is 29 Jul 2011 for Cadet Command Staff and 05 Aug 2011 for all other cadet staff positions. Cadets planning to attend need to apply by 01 Dec 2011. Cost this year is $115.

This year will be the best yet! We plan to have all female cadet flights for our Cadet Basics (first time cadets), and two coed advanced training flights focusing on Honor Guard and Emergency Services. Prepare to host an Honor Guard at your home squadron or earn your GTM3 certification over your holiday break! If you haven't attended encampment, completion of the 2011 winter encampment makes you eligible to apply for NCSAs by the January 2012 application deadline.

Planned activities for Cadet Basics include:
Rifle Shooting
Obstacle Course
KC-135 Orientation Ride
Black Hawk Orientation
And lots more!

Cadets from other states are ABSOLUTELY encouraged to apply!

In Kansas we like to say "we think outside the box". Last years encampment had 9 different Wings represented the furthest one was from Ohio. The year before that we a cadet from GA attend..

The dates are 12/26/11 through 1/2/12.

Staff CESSnA will be in August and PIPER will be in October. The dates are posted on the KS Wing website.

The documentation changed for the application packet. Please take another look at the KS Wing web site if you are putting in a staff application.

Best wishes for the encampment from a cadet in the state east of you

(The last two years we've gotten snowed in around Christmas)
